Helen Chuntso BSc(Hons) is a fully qualified member of the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM) UK. Since graduating in 2008, she has worked in varied clinical settings, with a particular specialism in fertility, gynaecological and obstetric acupuncture. She is also a Prenatal and Postnatal Doula (birthing assistant) with Doula UK.
Her work focuses on delivering the benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine to preconceptual, antenatal, birth and postnatal women, and beyond into the menopause years, and is driven by reverence for the ability to bring life into the world.
She views and treats each individual’s presenting condition not only from a clinical perspective, but also as a patient’s opportunity and pivot for changing any underpinning problems in lifestyle, diet and emotional health, and supports patients in their journey to wellness. As a Tui Na massage practitioner, she is aware some patients prefer acupressure to needling, and is able to treat musculoskeletal conditions and internal disorders.
Of particular interest to her work is the influence of the mind and emotions on the body, and she works, both within her practice and with other healthcare professionals, respecting the multidisciplinary collaboration needed to provide effective care.
Helen is committed to developing her skills and knowledge, and in addition to studying Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine, she works as Course Director at Manchester Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine developing Postgraduate training courses.
