John Gradwell - Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine
John Gradwell BSc (Hons), SBRCP, ITEC, Advance Tui Na certificate Nanjing practises Classical Chinese Acupuncture based mainly on the Huang Di Nei Jing, The Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine.
This holistic approach incorporates the use of Yin Yang, Five Elements, Channel Therapy and Vital Organs. For many years he has researched the mind body connection and is particularly concerned to apply root treatments to stress induced conditions. Chinese Medicine has been aware of mind body conditions and their treatment for several thousand years.
All treatments are thoroughly carried out with empathy and compassion. Acupuncture and moxibustion are used to treat a broad range of chronic and acute disorders. These include respiratory, cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, skin, digestive, gynaecological and emotional conditions of anxiety, depression and insomnia. Over the years John has enjoyed good success in treating many long term chronic conditions.
John practiced and taught Swedish massage for many years before studying Tui Na in Hong Kong with Doctor Lee Chiu Chun.
On returning to the UK, he studied acupuncture at Salford University, from where he graduated with honours. He furthered his study with Professor Wei Zha of China Nanjing International Training Centre to obtain a Certificate of Advanced Tui Na.
John has been awarded the status of Senior Practitioner with the British Register of Complementary Practitioners for Acupuncture and Tui Na and is currently supervising the students acupuncture clinic at Manchester Metropolitan University and previously supervised and lectured on acupuncture at Salford University for six years
