Chinese Medicine has long been used to treat reproductive health issues such as:
- Period pain
- Irregular menstruation or menstruation which is either early or late
- Amenorrhea
- PMT or menopausal symptoms
- Infertility
In Chinese Medicine, all internal organs play their role in regulating the menstruation and ensure reproduction. For example, kidney energy provide fertility essence, liver energy stores blood, vital energy ‘Qi’ moves the blood and the liver is the organ responsible for maintaining free flow of the ‘Qi’ around the body. Spleen energy is responsible for generating ‘Qi’ and blood heart energy affects hormone balances.
If the liver, heart, spleen or kidney channels (which all run through the pelvis) are blocked or deficient, some sort of menstrual problem will occur.
ACUPUNCTURE FOR MENSTRUATION, ACUPUNCTURE FOR MENOPAUSE
Your practitioner will generally use acupuncture by placing fine sterile needles into specific points in conjunction with a course of Chinese herbs usually taken from 3 to 6 months to remove stagnant ‘Qi’. A custom-made diet might also be recommended.
