Dr Mei Xing

Professor Mei Xing became a qualified medical doctor in 1985 after 5 years of training at Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Soon after she gained her MSc degree from Chengdu Traditional Chinese Medicine University before returning to Guiyang where she worked as an Associate Professor and Medical Consultant in Endocrinology.

Professor Mei Xing came to the UK in 2000, and has led and lectured at Salford and Manchester Metropolitan Universities and continues to guest lecture around the world.

With a special interest in women’s health, including infertility, Mei has assisted many couples to conceive and grow their families. As a practitioner, acupuncturist, and Chinese herbalist, Mei has never stopped using her worthy skills to help her patients as well as dedicating herself into evidence based practice. By undertaking acupuncture research, she has witnessed the huge benefit of integrating complementary medicine to general lifestyle in particular for preventative purposes and rehabilitation support.

She has treated patients for over 30 years and has made a great contribution to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as an educator, lecturer, tutor, member of the British Acupuncture Accreditation Committee, programme leader, and external examiner for several teaching institutes and universities in the UK and abroad. Mei is also a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ATCM).
