Gastrointestinal disorders

In traditional Chinese medical theory, the spleen is the key organ involved in gastro-intestinal disorders.

The spleen and stomach are Yin/Yang partners, they balance each other, and excessive damp in the spleen or excessive dryness in the stomach can trigger gastro-intestinal problems.

To treat these imbalances caused by chronic illness, ageing, poor diet, environmental factors, infections and especially emotional disturbances, Chinese Medicine commonly uses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and moxibustion or moxa.

Gastro-intestinal disorders include Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), gastroenteritis, colon disease and colitis.
